Machel Montano, born on November 24th, 1974 in Trinidad and Tobago is a calypso and soca recording artist and one of the most influential figures in Caribbean music. With a career spanning over four decades, he began performing at age seven, and quickly gained recognition for his dynamic stage presence and infectious rhythms, captivating audiences worldwide and solidifying his status as the "King of Soca". Beyond music, he is also a cultural ambassador for Trinidad and Tobago, promoting Caribbean culture on the global stage. His recent victory at the 2024 Calypso Monarch competition has made him the first person in Trinidad and Tobago to win the Young Kings, Road March, Soca Monarch and Calypso Monarch Titles.
